940 - Artificial Intelligence and the Law
Artificial intelligence technologies challenge established legal arrangements across a breadth of doctrines. This seminar will survey some of these challenges, with special reference to the following issues: AI’s implications for jurisprudence and legal argumentation (“can AI adjudicate cases?” etc.); potential copyright liability arising out of the training and use of artificial intelligence; and privacy harms presented by artificial intelligence, including nonconsensual appropriations of likeness in “deepfakes."
