953 - SP Bus Orgs: Deals (formerly Contract Theory & Design)
This course studies the economic challenges faced in business transactions and how to approach the design of contractual solutions to those challenges. The economic structure of these challenges and responses provides a framework through which to analyze transactions. We will develop heuristic tools on how to design contracts in business settings, and to this end you will learn key concepts from economic and behavioral contract theory. We will extensively analyze real-world contracts and business deals to examine where they succeed and fail.
